The Giving Tuesday Virtual Happy Hour was a Success!

Once again COVID-19 has reminded us that nothing can stop us when we are in service and in alignment with what has been planned for our lives.

We are in a state of perpetual gratitude for the men and women who support the work of the International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute. On December 1st, Giving Tuesday, 41 women joined us for our first Virtual Happy Hour on Zoom. It was an hour packed with fun and celebration. We decided on Giving Tuesday that IBWPPI would celebrate those who had already given to us by joining as members of the organization. We use this important day to say, thank you!

With DJ Lola setting the stage for a fun evening, the women danced on screen and we all toasted with our favorite beverages. IBWPPI Poet-in-Residence Tammilee Jules once again graced us with her melodic words of inspiration an original poem, “Chit Chatter Your Giving Matters.” Maleena Lawrence, IBWPPI Young Ambassador and Host of the Pressure Mobile Listening Tour, served as the high-octane MC who kept a smile on our faces the entire hour. To top off the night, four of our distinguished members gave their reasons for joining the organization and remaining as members, some since our founding date 12 years ago. We send a special thanks to Cheryl Brownlee, Glenda Gill, Ingrid Johnson and Carolyn Webb de Macias, we love you and appreciate you!
