IBWPPI Special Events

Since we began in 2009, IBWPPI has been committed to meeting Black Women where they are, by hosting gatherings and open dialogue on critical topics away from the Washington, D.C. area where we were headquartered for 10 years.

These convenings were elevated to small international conferences, held in “Little Haiti,” a predominant Haitian Community in South Miami, Fl., Belize, Bermuda and Nassau, Bahamas.

Hats for Hope is a signature friend and fund-raising project of the International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute.  Held in August annually as a private in-home reception bringing women together to learn about the history and work of the organization as well as to encourage them to become new members.

The Embassy Galas began in 2018 when IBWPPI was hosted by the Hon. Paul Getty Altidor, Ambassador of Haiti to the United States. The star-studded event held at the beautiful Embassy in Washington D.C. provided an opportunity for sponsors, friends, and supporters of IBWPPI to learn more about the country of Haiti and the growing relationship with IBWPPI.
