Valarie Walker

Valarie Walker has over 30 years’ experience in the areas of Executive Administration and Administrative support in the IT and HR field. My current role as Chief of Staff for President Barbara Perkins and The International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute allows me the opportunity to feed my soul with all the amazing work that this organization continues to do.  My prior position as the IT Manager for the National Office of the Boys and Girls Club of America allowed me to see the ins and outs of the organization that has helped so many children be successful in life.

My journey from Los Angeles to Atlanta started with a career move as the National Director for the CARES Mentoring Organization in 2008.  While living in Los Angeles, my career started as the Office Manager for Bench International, a Headhunting firm in Beverly Hills. From there, I was introduced to the political arena working as the Project Manager for Retired Assemblywoman, Gwen Moore at GeM Communications Group. I assisted in the organizing of The Future PAC, Women Building for the Future Political Action Committee. While also heading a million-dollar project with the California Public Utilities Commission. During that tenure I met Barbara Perkins and began working alongside her with the LA CARES Chapter of the CARES Mentoring organization.

I started and was blessed to have a successful catering business for 12 years. Simplicity is my key to happiness and learning that life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. I am now walking in my truth, fulfilling my purpose and enjoying each day of my life as if it was my last.
