Nobuhle Renqe

Director

Nobuhle Renqe is a South African from the Xhosa tribe in the Eastern Cape. She is currently a Senior Manager at Toyota South Africa Motors under the Project Planning and Management Department. She holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Brown University (USA) and IE Business School (Spain). In August 2019 she completed Mandela Washington Fellowship of the Young Africans Leaders Initiative (YALI). A program initiated by Barrack Obama’s office in 2014 aiming to empower young African leaders. During this time, she represented South Africa under business track at Clark Atlanta University followed by Presidential Summit in Washington DC.

Nobuhle holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nelson Mandela University and the University of South Africa. Her work experience in the automotive industry started in 2006 with Borbet and Volkswagen South Africa as an engineering trainee.  After a graduate training program at Toyota South Africa, she was appointed as a Principal Engineer.  In 2013 she relocated to Japan through an intracompany transfer program, where she worked under new vehicle introductions at Toyota Motor Corporations.  Upon her return to South Africa, she completed executive development programs through the University of Stellenbosch. Nobuhle strongly believes in continuous improvement with the notion that learning is an ever-ending journey.

Outside work, she enjoys outdoor activities (connecting with nature) with her 9-year-old son. One of her strong passions is giving back to community through acts of kindness and mentoring/ empowering young females in engineering.
