Barbara A. Perkins


Barbara Perkins is an Inspirational Speaker, Lecturer, Writer, and Executive Life Coach, who has traveled extensively sharing her positive message of hope and her belief about the transformative power of Cultural Diplomacy.

In 2000, Ms. Perkins established Image Builders Etcetera LLC, a full-service leadership development, and coaching firm, that designs and implements strategies to position men and women for public office, executive leadership, personal and professional fulfillment. She spent more than two decades in Non-Profit Leadership, working to build one of the largest Mentoring Networks in the US. In 2013, Ms. Perkins partnered with world spiritual leader, Dr. Iyanla Vanzant, as Interim-Executive Director, of Inner Visions Spiritual Life Maintenance, Inc. managing the day-to-day operations of a 30-year organization.

She is the Founder of two non-profit organizations: Sisters at the Well, Inc., a network of more than 600 women and The International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute (IBWPPI), an organization working with international and domestic groups to promote kindness, diplomacy, and good public policy.

Barbara has a distinctive and exceptional ability to engage diverse constituencies. Her reputation as a strategic thinker and collaborator has gained her access to all levels of governments, prestigious boards, policy makers, community groups and executives worldwide. Her list of political appointments from Governors, Mayors, and other officials is extensive, including serving as President of one of the largest Commissions for Women in the Country.

Barbara has published five books. Her expert advice on Mentoring, Political and Civic Leadership, Global Citizenship, Diversity, Philanthropy and Personal Development has branded her as someone to follow.

Barbara has advanced degrees in Human Development and is currently working on a Ph.D. at The Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. She is married to retired Fire Captain, Stanley Perkins. They are the proud parents of two young adults.
